Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Klopat ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Responsible Party

The developer of Klopat is responsible for this app and can be reached at: [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. We collect a limited set of anonymous usage events to help us improve the app (see Section 3). No data we collect can be linked back to your identity.

The app periodically downloads content updates from our server (klopat.app) to provide timely klopats. No personal data is sent in these requests. Standard HTTP metadata (IP address, User-Agent, request time) may be visible to the web server — as with any website — but is not used for tracking, profiling, or identification.

3. Anonymous Usage Analytics

To improve the app, we record anonymous, aggregate signals about how the app is used — for example, how often klopats are completed and which features are popular. No third-party analytics SDKs are involved.

Alongside each signal we record basic non-identifying context: app version, iOS version, and the language and region you selected in your device settings. A random per-install identifier (generated on first launch and removed when you delete the app) lets us count unique installs without ever knowing who you are. This identifier is not Apple's identifierForVendor and is not linkable to any other identifier on your device.

What we never record: your name, email, IP address, precise location, photo contents, the text of your notes, contacts, or any data that could identify you. We do not share this data with any third party for advertising or marketing.

Because the data is not linked to your identity, no consent dialog is required under GDPR or Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules.

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

This data is stored using Apple's standard secure storage on your device. It never leaves your device.

5. What We Do NOT Do

6. Notifications

If you enable notifications:

7. App Permissions

Klopat may request the following permissions:

Note: Selecting photos from your photo library uses Apple's privacy-preserving photo picker, which does not require separate permission.

8. Data Security

9. Your Rights Under Applicable Law

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding personal data. Since Klopat does not collect or process any personal data, these rights are automatically satisfied:

You can exercise full control over your data at any time by deleting the app, which permanently removes all locally stored data.

10. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

The anonymous usage events described in Section 3 are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in maintaining and improving the app. Because these events are not linked to your identity, the processing has minimal impact on you. No special category data is processed.

11. International Users

Klopat is available globally. Local data (Section 4) is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us. Anonymous usage events (Section 3) are sent to our servers, which are configured to use locations in the European Union.

12. Third-Party Services

Klopat does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. We use a reputable infrastructure provider to host the servers that receive the anonymous usage events described in Section 3. That provider acts strictly as our data processor and does not have an independent right to use the data.

13. Children's Privacy

Klopat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect any personal data from any user, children's privacy is inherently protected.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

15. Data Retention

Local data (klopat history, photos, notes, preferences) is retained on your device for as long as you use the app. Deleting the app from your device permanently removes all associated data. Anonymous usage events are retained on our servers in aggregate form for as long as they remain useful for product improvement. Because these events are not linked to your identity, no individual user data can be retrieved or deleted from them.
